For every 3 hours building an extension for Raycast (tracked with Hackatime), and we’ll get you a month of Raycast Pro. You’ll also get Hack Club Raycast stickers in the mail! :D You can get many months of Raycast Pro!

What’s Raycast?

If you’ve ever used macOS Spotlight or Windows Start, imagine that, but much more powerful! At it’s core, Raycast allows you to launch apps by searching up their name, but you can extend what it can do with extensions.

You can:

  • check your email with Raycast
  • open GitHub issues
  • control your playlist
  • set your window layouts
  • anything you can code

Here’s how this works

1. Setup Hackatime

Before you build, make sure you have Hackatime set up so your time is tracked. Follow the instructions on the hackatime website!

Go to Hackatime

1. Build your extension

Come up with an idea and get building! Check our macOS or Windows guides if you need help getting started.

The official Raycast Developer documentation covers a ton more stuff in detail!

To Windows users: Raycast on Windows is still in private beta, but we have exclusive invite codes for Hack Clubbers. Once you’ve gotten your idea, request a code here:

Request a Windows invite

You need have at least 3 hours of tracked time spent on your project. Add another feature, polish up what you already have!

2. Ship it!

Once you’ve finished building and polished up your extension, make sure you’ve met the submission requirements:

  • 3+ hours of coding tracked on Hackatime
  • Source code is public on GitHub
  • You have a README with a description, demo video (screen recording), and installation instructions
  • You’re a teenager 18 or younger
